The Organizing and the Scientific Committees of Nordic Stroke welcome all delegates for the abstract submission!


Time and venue

The 19th Nordic Congress on Cerebrovascular Diseases will be held at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Aarhus, Denmark from 23 until 25 August 2017. The Radisson BLU Hotel Aarhus is a very large conference hotel. It is located next to the Concert Hall, the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum and the City Hall, and it is within walking distance of most of the congress hotels.

The name badge and tickets issued to you on registration are your admission to all scientific sessions,  lunches and coffee and social events. You are kindly requested to wear your name badge on all occasions. If the badge is lost, please contact the registration desk.

Car parking

Car parking is available at the venue (Radisson BLU Hotel – Scandinavian Congress Center). Tickets (reduced price) are sold in the hotel reception at Radisson BLU Hotel.


Car rental

Cars can be rented from local or international companies e.g.: Budget, Avis, Hertz or Europcar. The staff at the registration desk will assist you if you wish to rent a car.


Certificate of attendance

Certificate of attendance can be handed out at the registration on request.


Coffee breaks

During breaks, refreshments (coffee and tea) will be served in the exhibition room free of charge to participants.

After banking hours cash points accepting major credit cards are conveniently located all over the city.


Dining out in Aarhus

Most restaurants in Aarhus are open from 11:30 – 24:00. However, hot meals are not served after 22:00. Service charges are included in the price.

Insurance and liability

Neither the organizers, nor the conference. Participants are advised to take out their own health and travel insurance.



English is the official language of the congress. No simultaneous translation will be provided.



Lunch on Wednesday 23 August and Thursday 24 August is served 12.00 – 13.30

Lunch on Friday 25 August is lunch to go - packed lunch. Lunch packs can be picked up from 10.45 at the buffet in the exhibition area. On the registration form you have ticked off your preference for lunch Friday – no thank you or yes please packed lunch.

Shops in Aarhus are usually open from Monday to Friday, from 9.30 – 17.30 (Saturday 09.30 – 14.00). Super markets and department stores are open till 19.00. Sunday closed. Most shops accept all major credit cards.



Guides and service employees will assist you during the congress – Our service staff can be recognised by their t-shirts.



Numerous taxi stands are located throughout Aarhus city centre. The hotel receptionists will be pleased to assist you. 



Service is automatically included in all bills for service, meals etc. Tipping is not required.

What to see and do in Aarhus


The Old Town

The Old Town is an open-air museum with half-timbered houses from all over Denmark – taken down and re-built and re-constructed. It is Denmark’s National Museum of Urban History, the biggest museum in Jutland with unique collections of toys, silver, china, clothes, clocks and watches; with streets and yards, workshops and shops reflecting life from 1600 up to our great-grand-parents’ days. It is a living and breathing experience of what it was like to live and work in a Danish market town, as it was in the old days. Meet the people and characters of yesteryear, experience life as it was in their living rooms and kitchens; and smell the flowers right in their own gardens. Try out old childrens games, or why not go on an exploration through-out the museums extensive exhibitions?

We kindly ask the chairs to be present in their session halls at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the session.


Poster presentations: 

Posters will be displayed the whole congress and are situated in Kongressal I. Please set up your poster on Wednesday 23 August at 11:30 at latest and take it down on Friday 25 August after coffee break 11:00 . The poster boards are marked with the poster No., which you will find in the APP. Only pins can be used to mount posters. Pins are on the spot.


Preparation for oral presentations – slide centre

We ask you kindly to register and deliver your presentation to the technician in the slide centre as soon as possible after your arrival and no later than 45 min. before your presentation.

Facilities for viewing and arranging power point slides and PowerPoint presentations before the presentation are provided. There is a technician to help and to guide you in the centre – opening hours:

All session rooms are equipped with data projectors and PC, and overhead projector. 

Please collect your USB-key or any other material after the session, as the organizers cannot assume any liability for damage or loss of USB-keys etc. that are left behind.

The organizers cannot assume liability for any changes in the programme due to external unforseen circumstances.
